Kachin Women’s Association Thailand (KWAT) has been documenting cases of human rights abuses, providing basic supports to victims of human rights violations, including access to medical service and access to justice. This report “Seeking Justice” documented 51 cases of human rights violations in Kachin and Northern Shan States. Overwhelmingly in more than half of the 51 cases, punishing individuals under the unlawful association act and arbitrary detention are two of the most common types of violation.
